The Drive (formerly the Merry Fiddler) is a traditional 1920's pub on the outskirts of the Old Town of Eastbourne. The Drive is located at the junction of Green Street and Victoria Drive, next to the Victoria Drive Bowls Club and Bowling Green.

This family run (Kev and Di)pub is a greatly sought after venue. The extensive function facilities make it excellent for Birthdays, Christenings, Weddings, Engagements etc. The Drive boasts the largest public house function room in Eastbourne.  With generous parking to the front of the premises and an additional car park, accessed from Victoria Gardens, it also makes an ideal stop off for coach parties.

Being only 500 metres from the South Downs Way, The Drive is an excellent start and finish point for walkers, dog walkers and general users of the South Downs. The pub is 10 minutes walk from Eastbourne Old Town and is also close to Beachy Head.

Kev and Di took over the running of The Drive at the beginning of November 2007 with the aim of turning it back into a proper community pub, function and music venue.  Once the kitchen is back in working order they plan to offer traditional pub food, breakfasts and a full catering option for functions.

The front bar has been refurbished to give a real pub feel with a wide selection of alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to choose from, tea and coffee is also available throughout the day.

The conservatory bar is a quieter area where, up until 9pm families can play pool, darts and games or have a go on the newly acquired dance machine.  Live bands and artists feature on Friday nights with music to suit all.   

Live sport via Sky is shown on a 50” HD TV in the front bar with further TVs in the conservatory bar.
